Comunello Cantilever Gate System

We have now made Comunello Cantilever Gate Systems available in the USA!!

The Cantilever Gate System line is a new solution for sliding gates, whether light, medium or heavy. With respect to a traditional gate sliding on wheels and track, its technical innovation lies in the fact that the entire gate is cantilevered over the ground without any track fixed in the pavement. These systems consist of load-bearing trolleys, monorail, upper and lower strikes, adjustment tie-rods, fixing templates and a variety of support solutions.

Comunello is part of Fratelli Comunello, a leading Italy-based company dealing in a variety of gate hardware. Comunello is the perfect choice, with its complete line of accessories and a product configuration to calculate the correct dimensions for gates.

Trusted Supplier for 15 years

2009 is going to be historic year in many ways for the country and also for all of us at Architectural Iron Designs, Inc. 2009 will mark our 15th anniversary and I felt it was about time we started a blog to keep our customers and website visitors updated on our progress.

We have come a long way since our humble beginnings as the exclusive distributor for UK based B. Rourke & Co. Ltd. Since then we have added thousands of products to our catalog and website and we now represent over 15 quality manufacturers from all over the world and have established a great reputation in the architectural metals industry.

The list of companies we now represent include such reputable brand names as B. Rourke & Co, Lavi Industries, D&D Technologies, Lawler Foundry, LOCINOX USA, Grande Forge, Gilder’s Paste, FAAC and Frank Morrow Company. We have truly evolved from being a small supplier of ornamental iron components to a single source for all types of architectural metals.

I’d like to share with you some of our milestones in this journey and be assured that I will keep you updated on our continuously evolving company.

1993- Architectural Iron Designs is established by Allan Papp, in a small 1500sq ft. facility.

1994- We produce our first 24 page black & white catalog and exhibit at Metal Fab in Chicago, IL.

1999: We add Lavi Industries, to our product line, now offering a line of brass and stainless steel components for railings

2000: We start carrying the hi-performance Vinylast paint and patinas.

2001: We start offering spun aluminum balusters, an exclusive product that looks like wood balusters.

2002: We move to a larger facility in Plainfield, NJ allowing us to stock more products and handle more walk in business. We also release Edition 5 of our catalog.

2005: We add more products and release Edition 6 catalog, now 184 pages in full color with over 2000 products.

2006: We become a distributor for D&D Technologies, the leading manufacturer of hi-performance gate hardware.

2008: We become distributors for Grande Forge, a high quality line of forgings and castings in the French style. We also revamp our website loading it with tons of features such as CAD Drawings, bill of materials listings, My Account Section and a Savings center.

So, there you have it…15yrs of our company’s history in one page.

We thank our customers for their continued support during these years and as we enter a difficult year I assure you of our continued efforts in offering you quality products at competitive prices and of course our personalized service.

We look forward to your feedback, good and bad.
